"Who wants that perfect love story any way, anyway Cliché, cliché, cliché, cliché"
On August 5th, 2014 I attended the On the Run concert with Beyonce and Jay Z at AT&T park in SF. There is only one word to describe my night: Flawless.

Okay, I admit that was really dramatic, but lets be honest, you have to be a little bit dramatic when referring to anything associated with Queen B.
"Bow down bitches."
Pros of the night: Beyonce. Flawless. Jay Z. Flawless. Set list. Flawless. Everything. Flawless.
Cons of the night: nada
But in all seriousness, it was truly an amazing night. Me and my friends (pictured in this post) decided to take public transportion to the park as opposed to driving (save the Earth!) Luckily, we boarded our BART train just before there was a bomb threat that in turn caused the entire BART station to have to evaquate. The Bey Z gods were definitely watching out for us. Though our seats were the cheapest ones in the nose bleed seats, our view of the stage was still pretty damn good. But I mean even if I spotted Bey and Jay from a mile away that would still be a pretty damn good view. Like expected, the show started later than 8:00 pm but it was well worth the extra wait time. For the actual performance, it was amazing to say the least. The perfomance was a beautiful 45 song set list. So much Bey and Jay but still not enough. This concert made me realize just how many Jay Z songs were my jams (Ni**as in Paris--all time jam, Tom Ford, Clique, No Church in the Wild, you get the point. My inner rapper was coming out for sure.) I especially loved when he started performing "Blow the Whistle," from Oakland rapper Too Short. BAY AREA REPRESENT. Of course Beyonce was perfection. I always knew she was perfect but wow she is actually perfect. She is actually Queen. Only Beyonce can come out on stage in a straight up thong and have me thinking that it is the classiest thing ever. Her sexy ass chair dance for Partition in a lace leotard was iconic. If I tried doing that I would look like a doily falling down a flight of stairs. Slay Yonce, SLAY. And you KNOW I was hardcore jamming to Who Run the World (Girls), Love on Top and Single Ladies. I'm surprised I still have most of my voice right now. Clearly I was jamming hard enough. And while she did dance her heart out, she also belted out some increible performaces as well such as Pretty Hurts and Resentment. Life changing.
I would also like to cherish those moments at concerts when you are belting your heart out with the crowd, so loud you can't even hear what you're saying, and then all of a sudden you hear yourself and you sound like a dying cat mixed with a pubescent teenage boy while Beyonce sounds like an angel mixed with a fierce goddess. Those are the moments to live for.
Now there were cons to the night as well. First I burned myself with my curling iron while doing my hair. Beyonce is right, pretty hurts. I also regret wearing a shoe with the slightest heel. It wasn't even that tall and the shoes are relatively comfotable but mental note to myself: no heel, always NO heel. Also leaving the stadium was a pain in the booty but when is it not. Again (thank you Bey Z gods) we luckily made it onto BART right on time. BART is supposed to stop running at midnight and boy did we cut it close but we made it.

Thank you Beyonce and Jay Z for an incedible performance and night. I will definitely be telling my future grand children about this night. P.S. Please please please make a surprise appearance with Kanye at Outside Lands. That would be most swell. Thanks. Love y'all. Say hi to Blue Ivy for me.

On the Run 2014.
Until next time,
